Gate Information

Detroit Metro Airport (DTW) features two separate terminals—McNamara and Evans —each serving different airline alliances. The McNamara Terminal houses a famously long Concourse A with an internal tram (ExpressTram) to help passengers traverse between its gates efficiently, while the smaller Evans Terminal hosts non–SkyTeam carriers with a more compact layout.

ExpressTram™

Detroit Metropolitan Airport’s terminals feature moving walkways to ease the journey to your departure gate. In the McNamara Terminal, Concourse A, the ExpressTram whizzes travelers along the mile-long concourse between three conveniently-located stations. LED signs and speakers above each train’s sliding doors tell passengers which station they are approaching:

  • Terminal Station – located in the center of the concourse with easy access to gates A29-A55, Check-in, Baggage Claim, Ground Transportation, and the tunnel to Concourses B & C
  • South Station – providing convenient access to gates A1-A28
  • North Station – providing convenient access to gates A56-A78

For customers who require additional assistance moving about the terminals, all airlines serving DTW provide wheelchair assistance. Be sure to advise your airline in advance that wheelchair assistance may be required so that they can adequately prepare for your visit.
