Traveling with Pets

Navigate Detroit Metropolitan Airport with ease using our terminal maps, transportation options, and helpful tips.

Traveling with a Pet?

If you’re planning to take your pet along for the trip, be sure to check with your airline in advance to be sure pets are welcome aboard your flight and that you have the proper crate to ensure your pet is safe and comfortable throughout the journey.

Pets packed and approved for travel are welcome at Detroit Metro Airport. Pets are not allowed to roam free inside the airport terminal, and violation of this rule may be subject to a citation and fine.

For information on security checkpoint screening of a pet, please visit ww.tsa.gov.

When making airline reservations, let your airline know if you plan to travel with your service animal.

Service Animals

When making airline reservations, let your airline know if you plan to travel with your service animal. For specific information or requirements, please contact your airline.

Service Animal Relief Areas are available at each terminal. All locations provide plastic bags and a container for disposal of solid waste.

Detroit Metropolitan Wayne County Airport (DTW) is Michigan’s busiest airport, connecting over 30 million passengers annually through world-class terminals and global flight routes.
