In the event you experience a medical emergency for which you receive medical services through the fire department, and would like to request the release of your medical records, you may do so through the Authorization for Release of Medical Information. Completed forms must be submitted to the Wayne County Airport Authority Fire Department for processing. Individuals requesting the release of their medical records shall be provided a copy of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) Release form.
As healthcare providers, Fire Department personnel must maintain the confidentiality of patient medical records and information. Personnel also have a duty to release public information upon request in compliance with HIPAA, the Freedom of Information Act (FOIA), and other guidelines.
