Contractor Badge Requirements
Eligibility
Required Documents (New Projects)
Submit all three documents for each project:
- Delegation of Authority – Designate 1-2 authorized signers. Prime contractor completes sponsor section.
- Project Documentation – Prime contractor provides Letter of Introduction or Sponsor Form with:
- Project description and timeline
- Required access areas
- Authorization details
- Contractor Information – New company/subcontractor details matching prime contractor requirements
Subcontractors
- Prime contractor must identify all subcontractors per project
- Prime contractor responsible for updating subcontractor list
- Badge processing delayed until all information submitted
Access Limitations
- Standard access: Work area only for specified project
- Leased space access: Tenant/airline must submit Access Change Request to Credentials Office
Fees and Deposits
- Refundable deposit – returned if badge returned within 6 months of deactivation
- Processing fee – non-refundable per badge
- Payment: Company check or credit card (Visa, MasterCard, Amex, Discover) to “Wayne County Airport Authority”
Badge Returns
Requirements:
- Return when access no longer needed or project completed
- Cannot retain for warranty work
- Submit completed Separation Form
- Refund timeline: 3-5 weeks processing, company refunds only
Important: Badges not returned within 6 months of deactivation forfeit deposit.
Additional Services
Contract Security
- May be required for access point/fence monitoring during construction
- Contractor expense, 48-hour advance notice required
- Submit Contract Security Officer Service Request Form
Vehicle Access
AOA vehicles require valid permits from Airport Security.
